Quinn is 14 months old

Happy 14-months Birthday big girl!

Our new friend Jameson

Our good friends Jason and Karri Luebke welcomed their third child into the world on March 11, so we went to visit our newest friend. His name is Jameson and he is the lucky little brother of Addison and Gavin.
He is such a little sweetheart and he made Quinn look so BIG! Also.....he made Quinn a little jealous, because the moment I held him, she was climbing up on me and wouldn't let go. This is going to be interesting when our little one arrives in August. She will be a few months older then again, but still. I foresee a lot of moments like these, where I will be holding onto two "babies".

Hunting season?

Doesn't it feel like hunting season is just finished? Maybe so, but daddy is already preparing for next season! He'll be going to his new hunting paradise in Missouri soon to prep it for the coming deer hunting season. So it was time to get those tree stands put together. And what better time to do that than on a lazy Sunday afternoon. Quinn was very impressed by the entire setup and was very surprised too that daddy actually was reading the directions instead of trying to figure it out himself. It probably took him a little longer anyway with the little helper cruising around and getting into everything, but well: putting tree stands together....check!

A little bit more of winter

Just when you think spring is here and all snow is almost gone, you realize you were wrong. Winterstorm Francesca brought us about a foot and a half (almost half a meter) of fresh white powder and kept us stuck in the house for a good day and a half. And all you can do about it is look at it from inside, thinking that if it were November/December, you would find this view so beautiful.
Quinn waving at daddy trying to clean of the driveway. And wishing she could go outside to join him. It was still snowing pretty hard at that time though and it was pretty cold, so not a good place to be for a little girl.
Ryan doesn't mess around with a shovel. But even with the equipment he used it took a good 45 minutes to get all the snow that has fallen so far cleaned of.
Lets keep our fingers crossed and hope this was the last snow storm for this winter......

March Madness

March Madness......I've heard that a lot lately around here. But honestly, for me there isn't too much that March has to offer to go crazy about. It's just a month that you want to be done with as soon as possible. I'm done with Winter (for a while already), Spring is getting close......but it's just not there yet. Some days you get that teaser, where it's sunny outside and even comfortable enough to go for a walk. But the next day.....winter storm Ethan hits (March 9) with lots of fresh new snow again. And of course on that day we HAD to drive to Milwaukee to get things squared away for my green card. Luckily my husband is an experienced winter driver, got us there safely and on time. We even got to enjoy a nice lunch at the Cheesecake Factory on the way back :-).

Anyway, we are still playing inside of the house most of the time. The sunroom with pool table and other "toys" of daddy is a big hit for our little explorer. She knows where the balls go and where they come back out again. And she is just tall enough to put them back on the pool table again.
Yeah!!! Go Daddy!
The Golden Tee is also very interesting.
Note on the side: Ryan is in shorts and T-shirt, but don't be fooled. It is not that warm yet. He always wears that when he's home, winter or summer, doesn't matter. Weird? Yeah, a little.....

Luckily Quinn still likes her own toys as well. She almost crawls into her toy boxes, just to get that one thing she got her eyes on.
Mornings at the Everson house. We get up normally around 7am. We cuddle for a few minutes in bed and then we go downstairs to have breakfast. I just quit giving her a bottle of milk for breakfast, now she is drinking her milk out of her sippy cup (which she already did for lunch) while she eats her oatmeal. After breakfast, we (I) clean up and we play for a while before it's time for a bath and first nap (around 9am).
I can normally tell when it's time to hit the bathtub and go to bed......

Her big and soft friend "Olli" the elephant.

I'm still amazed by how well she is walking. Ever since I got her new shoes (a size bigger and 'early-walking' kinds) she is just on the go. It's so fun to see her walk around the corner like she has been doing it for years already. Where did my baby go? Sometimes she even wants to run, but her mind goes faster yet than her legs....
Not to forget, there is baby #2 as well of course. He/she is doing very well and making my belly look like I've been drinking too much beer. Or eating too much chocolate, which I've been craving a lot lately.
We're 18,5 weeks pregnant now, so almost half way. This pregnancy seems to go a lot faster than the first one. And I have been feeling the little one move for a few weeks already also. What a great feeling that is. It is one of the most wonderful things about being pregnant.
Our ultrasound is scheduled for April 5th. I can't wait to see who is kicking me :-)

Quinn is 13 months old!

Okay. When do you celebrate your 13 month birthday when you're born on January 29 and it's not a leapyear.....?
February 29 or no February 29, Quinn is 13 months old. And acting like a 13 month old. With that I mean she is exploring her world and checking out boundaries. Actually, she is just being a 13-month old toddler. Practising hard on her walking skills and babbling words that no one but herself can make sense of yet.
She is sleeping pretty good and eating good most of the times. Some days she all of a sudden won't eat any of her fruit or veggies and the next day she eats them like she's always done. So I just try not to worry on the non-eating days that she is a bad eater, but just isn't hungry. She is growing and she is a happy healthy little girl, so that's most important.
She still makes my heart swell everytime she gives me that great smile of her. And she still loves to cuddle, which I hope she will keep doing for a long long time :-)
