On December 7 it was finally time to take Quinn on her first international flight across the Atlantic to visit my family and friends in Holland. It was her first time ever on a plane, and on the way there it was just me and her. So I was a little nervous about how it would go. But no need for worries. She did awesome! Slept a good 4,5 hours during the 7,5 hour flight from Detroit to Amsterdam and during the time she was up, she was all smiles for everyone around her.
Nevertheless, I was glad when the plane finally landed (I didn't get any sleep.....) safe at Schiphol airport. After going through customs, very easy because we both have Dutch passports, we collected our suitcases and were out to meet up with opa and oma who were waiting for us with a big 'Welcome' balloon!

We arrived at 7.45am Dutch time, which meant it was still midnight for us. We still had an about 1,5 hour car ride ahead of us, so we first sat down to drink something at the airport before we headed home.
Another big welcome when we arrived at my parents house: my brother, sister-in-law and their two kids Tess and Luke came over right away to see us.
A big hug and kiss from Tess for Quinn.....with many more to come over the next 4 weeks :-)
The three cousins finally together again.
Tess and Luke brought their "baby" toys over to opa and oma for Quinn to play with. Toys that they hadn't seen in a while either and which all of a sudden were so much fun again!
Tess loves to hold Quinn. And Quinn was so jetlagged that first day that she was actually fine with it.
Together with grandma, holding on to one of her favorite toys: the remote!
